Jeff Herrmann is chair for the department of theatre and dance, professor of theatre and the resident scene designer for the department. Courses include scene design, collaborative studies, computer drafting, rendering techniques and portfolio presentation.

Professional design work includes "Cabaret," "Bat Boy," "The Mystery of Edwin Drood," "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum," "Into the Woods," "Sweeney Todd," "Les Misérables," "The Secret Garden," "My Fair Lady," "The Hunchback of Notre Dame," "The Music Man," (Joint productions between Great Lakes Theater and Idaho Shakespeare Festival); "I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change," "The Spitfire Grill," "Little Shop of Horrors," "Noises Off," (Idaho Shakespeare Festival);"Bye-Bye Birdie," "Damn Yankees," "The Sound of Music," "West Side Story," "Fiddler on the Roof," "Oliver," "Hair," "Dreamgirls," (Cain Park); "Closer," "Wit," "Refuge," "The Tale of the Allergist's Wife," "Take Me Out," "The Blue Door," (Dobama Theater); "Spring Awakening," "Next to Normal," "Mary Poppins," (Beck Center).

In addition to teaching and design work, he recently took a 3-year hiatus (2017-2020), to serve as the production manager for Great Lakes Theater, Idaho Shakespeare Festival and Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival. He is a member of United Scenic Artists Local 829.
